OUR STORY

HOW WE MET

It all began in the busy halls of Wellington Hospital.

Hayley was working as a dedicated physiotherapist, and Zeid was a doctor navigating long shifts and endless coffee runs. Their paths crossed often—sometimes in corridors, sometimes in shared patient rounds, and always with a warm smile or a quick hello. What started as simple conversations and friendly banter soon became something special.

In between hospital chaos and the hum of everyday life, their friendship quietly grew. They found themselves talking more—about their lives, their hopes, and their dreams. They discovered a shared passion for helping others, a love for new places and cultures, and above all, deeply rooted family values that shaped who they were.

It wasn’t one big moment, but rather a collection of little ones—laughs shared over karak tea after a long shift, quiet walks on a rare day off, the ease they felt in each other’s company—that slowly turned friendship into love.

They say love happens when you least expect it—and for Hayley and Zeid, it found them in the most ordinary of places, made extraordinary by the connection they built.

Now, surrounded by the people they love most, they’re ready to begin the next chapter of their story—one filled with adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of love.

TWO WORLDS,ONE LOVE

Hayley grew up surrounded by the natural beauty and laid-back warmth of New Zealand, while Zeid was raised amidst the rich traditions and deep-rooted heritage of Saudi Arabia. On paper, their worlds couldn’t have looked more different—but love has a way of bridging even the widest distances.

From the very beginning, Hayley and Zeid were drawn to what made each other unique. They approached their differences with curiosity, respect, and open hearts—sharing stories, customs, languages, and laughs along the way. Whether it was Hayley learning the flavors and rhythms of Saudi culture, or Zeid embracing Kiwi traditions and values, they found joy in discovering each other’s worlds.

At the core of their connection was something beautifully unifying: the importance of family, kindness, and living life with purpose. It was in these shared values that they built a foundation stronger than any difference.

Their journey hasn’t just been about blending cultures—it’s been about celebrating them. Together, they’ve created a life that honors where they come from while looking forward to everything they’ll build together. Their love is a reminder that the most meaningful relationships aren't about being the same—but about growing, learning, and finding unity in diversity.

As they come together in marriage, Hayley and Zeid are excited to bring both their worlds into this next chapter—hand in hand, heart to heart.

THE PROPOSAL

On a warm, sunlit day in Kyoto, amidst the timeless beauty of Daigo-ji Temple, Zeid asked Hayley the question that would change their lives forever.

The temple grounds were peaceful, with ancient trees casting dappled light across quiet pathways and the stillness of nature surrounding them like a gentle hush. Hayley, dressed in a simple white dress that danced softly in the breeze, walked hand-in-hand with Zeid through the gardens, taking in the calm beauty of the moment.

As they reached a red-lacquered bridge arching gracefully over the water, Zeid paused. With a nervous smile and eyes full of emotion, he handed Hayley a letter—one he had written just for her. As she opened it and began to read, the world seemed to slow down. Each word carried love, intention, and the story of everything they had shared so far.

When she looked up, her heart full and eyes misty, Zeid was already down on one knee.

It was a moment of pure magic—tender, thoughtful, and deeply them. Under the soft Kyoto sun, surrounded by beauty and quiet joy, Hayley said yes.

It’s a memory they’ll hold close forever: a bridge, a letter, and a promise of forever.
